The command tower, called the Bell, served as the bunker of the allied headquarters and was the main object of the “Goeben” battery bunker complex. Construction was carried out in 1936-1938. The battery was named after General August von Goeben, commander of the corps and later the army, distinguished in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871.
